NSW State Government Corporate Club Lunch

New ABIE Corporate Member, NSW State Government, hosted a lunch on the occasion of the visit to Paris of H.E. Stuart Ayres, Minister of Trade, Transport, Tourism, Events and Sport at the Aéro-Club de France.

Citing 26 years of positive growth and the State’s $A68 billion of infrastructure investment in the pipeline, New South Wales Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events The Hon. Stuart Ayres gave an upbeat economic message to ABIE’s Corporate and Board members at a lunch on April 22 at the Aéro-Club de France.

In Paris following a meeting in Frankfurt, the Minister outlined plans for twin cities, each the size of Canberra, to be built in the north and west of Penrith, in Sydney’s outlying Western suburb. Mr Ayres is the Member for Penrith. These cities, he said, would help ease Sydney’s chronic accommodation problem.

Another major attraction for Sydney will be a new Convention Centre which is being built on the footprint of the former Exhibition Centre that closed in 2013. The new venue, scheduled to open in December, is part of a $A3.4 billion revitalization scheme for Darling Harbour.

Among the other major projects are two light rail systems that will ease much of the traffic congestion in both the north and the west of the city center. The light rail will be capable of moving 10,000 passengers an hour.

The lunch was hosted by ABIE’s new Corporate Club Member, the New South Wales Government, in the Salon Dassault at the Aéro-Club de France.
