Rencontres Internationales du Cinema des Antipodes
Jane Campion, the only female director to win a Palm D’or at Cannes, will be guest of honour at the Rencontres Internationales du Cinema des Antipodes when it opens on October 8 in St Tropez.
The New Zealand/Australian director’s film, The Piano (produced by France) also won her an Oscar for Best Screenplay in 1993.
But it won’t be The Piano that will be screening on the opening night. It will be Jane Campion’s first full length movie, Sweetie – an unconventional and touching story of the unconventional and touching Sweetie.
This is the 20th edition of the Roncontres, organized by ABIE member Bernard Bories, recognized in the film industry as an world expert on Australian and New Zealand cinema.
