Christophe Vissant’s Australian Challenge Tour

After months of intense preparation, on October 15th, ultra long distance runner and ABIE France member, Christophe Vissant, commenced his trip around Australia in front of the Sydney Opera House, surrounded by members of the French Embassy and Consulate @FranceSydney, as well as by some of his main sponsors.  At the rate of 2 marathons a day and no day off for more than 15 500 km, his aim is 180 days of running that will take him from Sydney to Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, Brisbane and back to the Sydney Opera House.

The Australian Embassy in Paris sent their best wishes stating “All our encouragement to Christophe Vissant who started today at the foot of the Sydney opera his amazing challenge: Tour Australia running.  Good luck Christophe!”

Christophe has written in an email to supporters “The first week, even the first month will be difficult for me, the time for the body and the mind to balance, after Adelaide I should start to be better just before facing the great plain of Nullarbor and the biggest straight line of the world to join Perth on the west coast.”

ABIE Board Members Tea Dietterich and Frederic Calinaud are among his biggest supporters.  Tea’s company 2M Language Services is one of the Event Partners and in charge of all communication, translations and language services between Australia and France. The 2M Team is in close touch with him and will follow his incredible journey and will run with him when he passes through Brisbane.

Frederic’s law firm, Calinaud David Avocats, assisted Christophe, financially and logistically, and helped organize the run with Ambassador Brendan Berne, Honorary President of ABIE, last March, in order to promote Christophe’s challenge.

ABIE France wishes all the best to Christophe for his incredible challenge !
